Speed tester?
« on: November 17, 2017, 04:08:04 PM »

Hi guys.
Long time since I've been on this forum, but if I want to know anything it'll always be Kitz's I'll ask :D
Anyway, I've just moved home with my partner, and In my infinite wisdom I got the Virgin package for TV/Broadband and phone.
All is well (so far) and apparently I got a mail to say I've been upgraded to 200mb/s.
I know it won't affect me as I don't game.
But for the sake of interest I thought I'd test the speed.
I tried one (can't remember the name) and that came out at 95mb/s download.
So here I am again, asking what the most reliable speed tester is please?

PS..If you're reading this Kitz. I hope you are well? ;)

@bob.gas: Sorry, but I've removed your avatar because it displayed a Photobucket message saying that you need to upgrade your account with them to use images in this way.

Thanks john.
That looks more like the projected speed by Virgin.

No worries Eric.
I did receive an email from Photo-bucket many moons ago, but didn't bother again.
Is there a better site to use purely for posting images onto forums etc?

I don't know the answer to that, but if the image is on your hard disk you can upload it to the forum from there. From the home page of the forum, click on Profile --> Modify Profile --> Forum Profile and look at the Avatar options.

if you ever want to link to a image in future, imgur tends to be the go to site now days. Imageshack and photobucket are using obsolete practices.

Surviving. :D   Hope that all is ok with you.

The other guys appear to have sorted your queries, so nothing much else to add other than I'd second Thinkbroadbands speedtester for being about the most accurate.
There's a list of some more decent testers on the main site
