Sound like only three branded names Plusnet, EE and BT are BT Group with BTw speedtester problem. Never had any problem with my past ISP such as Entanet, ADSL24, Free2Surf, ADSL4Less etc. Only Plusnet have many problem. Might consider switch to AAISP soon.

The plot thickens, strange !

The "further diagnostics" bit of the BT WS Performance Checker has always been a bit temperamental with me, rarely worked on the first attempt, same goes for the "mouselike.org" BRAS checker, as they are both accessing the same BT system to obtain the BRAS IP profile perhaps to be expected.

Neither have completely refused to work at all as per the experiences of the last few days.

Not sure if you are aware, there has been a known issue with BT WS Performance Tester speed reporting for some time depending on which browser you are using, I first noticed this on Firefox, even the latest Quartum version is still the same, I now use Pale Moon when speed testing via BT WS site, this consistantly produces correct results.

See other forum threads on this issue.

Tiffy what you can do is use your current sync rate for example say 39999kbps if your on RTX-Low/fastpath you take 96.7% of current sync rate 39999kbps which = 38679kbps your IP Profile (38)

If your on RTX-High you take 92.0% of current sync rate 39999kbps which = 36799kbps your IP Profile (37)

So your DS IP Profile would be 96.7 percent of 36906 = 35688kbps IP profile (36)

@ NewtronStar

My DS sync rate 73998k with interleaved (8) (52.00) mean Bras IP Profile would be 68078k - is this correct?

It works out at 68078Kbps so that is 92% high RTX re-transmission IP profile (69)

TBH Max you would be better of on fastpast or RTX-Low 96.7 if your line can handle it and this XdB is just a gimmick it does give you more sync but the RTX-High 92% overhead takes most of what you gained away  :(

It's nothing to do with G.INP it's this XdB once that is removed off your line RTX-Low should be enabled again.

I suppose you could use a HG612 with old firmware IE non compatible with G.INP  :-\

Xdb is not on DSLStats it is applied by DLM and is another name for lowering the target margin to 3db.
