SNR Margin has increased, possible speed increase soon?
« on: November 08, 2017, 09:29:33 PM »

Decided to check my router stats just now and normally my SNR Margin shows 6dB however at the current moment in time it shows 8.6dB. My question is, does this mean or indicate a possible increase in line speed? I'm wondering if Openreach have made network improvements in my area which would allow this to happen?

Attached an imagine of the stats to this thread. Would love to hear individual input  ;D

Hard to say just on the info above and there could be other factors at play.
What was your previous stats?   You could try a resync to see if you do get more speed.

One reason for a jump of about 2dB,  could just be that one of your crosstalkers is currently offline and has their modem switched off, say for example if theyve gone away for a few days.
If it is that, then expect the SNRm to drop again as soon as they switch their router back on :/

Are you synced at your usual speed? Have you had a resync between the snrm rising?

May be a crosstalker has cancelled their service or just powered off their modem. Your max attainable is 80Mb.

My usual speed is higher than what I am currently getting, so I suspect it may go higher. Although as said above it may be because someone else has their router switched off.

If it were me I would restart it and enjoy the higher speed ;D
