Switching FTTC Suppliers, connection problems?

Hi,

I submitted my 30 day notice to BT to leave. I've had connection issues in the past.

I am wondering if I switch suppliers could they mess my connection up or will everything be left as is & connection remain good?

Also, any advice on what suppliers would be good to move to?

You are planning to migrate the broadband service to someone else?

If so, you probably didn't want to give notice to BT at all. You probably just wanted to find a new supplier, and get them started ... and leave BT to find out from the new supplier.

By telling BT you'll be leaving, you've set it up so you pay the ~£30 cease fee.

@WWWombat,

but I'm out of contract, they said if I didn't change suppliers the service would continue...

I got word today that FTTP should be coming in the next few months (maybe) so I might not switch now

Agreed. Cancel the 30 days notice that's only required if you're cancelling the line completely.
If out of contract with BT simply order service with the new supplier. It will give the option to migrate the line to them. They contact BT and tell them you are switching.

With an active cease on the line you can't order a migration from another supplier.

I rang there, the 30 day notice wasn't put through

I decided to re contract, Openreach replied to me today & said FTTP should be available next year, if I switch provider I'll have to wait 18 months

BT said I could re contract for FTTP once it comes out, so I'm happy enough

I would like the free mobile calls from landline though
