Low UpSync

(1/1)

dambuilder:
Not that it really causes me any problem (just curious) but see below. Any idea why the US is so much lower than the max yet the DS is higher than the max? Using a HG612 BTW.

xdslcmd info --stats
xdslcmd: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: Showtime
Retrain Reason:   0
Last initialization procedure status:   0
Max:   Upstream rate = 15391 Kbps, Downstream rate = 53356 Kbps
Bearer:   0, Upstream rate = 12000 Kbps, Downstream rate = 56678 Kbps

j0hn:
The upstream looks banded (capped).
Is it always exactly 12000 (or 11999)?

dambuilder:
It's been bang on 1200 for over a month now. Used to fluctuate slightly prior to that. I did try using a Vigor 130 (ECI Cab) for a while but it made my connection worst and I ended up with Interleave. Switching back to the HG612 restored Fastpath after a few days but also introduced the 1200.

Just in case anyone wants to see the stats;

WWWombat:
Strange that the modem thinks you have another 3Mbps attainable, while at the same time being spot on the (usual) target SNRM of 6dB.

DLM hasn't asked for any intervention upstream, but the modems have negotiated to put FEC protection on anyway. That's usual in the upstream ... at least when there is capacity to spare.
