Today I cant access any of my router pages on 192.168.1.1. I have tried an exact identical model and cant access that either and it was working yesterday. I have rebooted machine and routers but no access, also cant access my ZyXEL modem on a different subnet but can access both by telnet as DSLStats is still working.

Tried different browsers but still no go, this is also the same on a wireless desktop which is unable to access the router admin page.

Any ideas?

I had a (maybe) similar problem with my ZyXel modems where the login page never loaded. I scratched my head for a while until on one attempt I saw the Huawei logo appear on the ZyXel page! Clearing the browser cache fixed it in my case. Too many devices with the same address!

Tried clearing the cache but no different and tried many different browsers am going to refresh the machine as I installed an FTP program and wondering if that has changed system files.

Found the problem. Bitdefender was blocking the local addresses. Sent a ticket see if they fix it.

How obscure. I use Bitdefender myself (but on a Mac) and haven't seen that one!

Turning protection off and I can access router pages again or a re-install either works for now.

Try clearing out your Browsers history/cache you may have a saved password in the browser for that login and is conflicting with what you type.

You obviously haven't read the thread NS. That was the first thing I tried, it was coming up as page unreachable on all browsers. It was the AV.

I had a similar experience with Kaspersky AV a while ago.
It was working fine until I swapped the router out and then it wouldn't connect to the GUI at all.
Even turning off the AV didn't fix it in my case, but a unistall/reinstall did.

I've noticed AV seems to cause people random issues. It's good to update it. Also good to do a complete uninstall and reinstall.

I use Avast and they have a special program that removes every bit of the previous install.

Glad to see you figured it out. Technology can be frustrating at times lol

I reported it to BD and their suggestion was a re-install which solved the problem on both machines. I never thought of trying the router web page on my phone.
