Sckipio launch Amendment 3 (212MHz) g.fast chipset

Israel-based Sckipio, which created some of the kit that Openreach (BT) piloted as part of their 330Mbps G.fast broadband roll-out, has promised “true 1Gbps speeds” by becoming one of the first to launch a chipset based off the ITU-T’s Amendment 3 (212MHz) profile. Plus there’s a 96-port DPU.

Impressive performance.

I'm just hoping BT are at least studying pod distribution designs and suppliers at the moment. Because when the Have Not's outnumber the Have's, its not going to be good PR.

Well with some luck those not in the initial roll out will get better hardware, time will tell of course.
