Cynical, yes. Funny, yes. Rather Boris-like...

But on the whole, we're actually quite good at this diplomacy lark (so long as you keep the politicians out of it). The EU as we see it today is a product of diplomacy that we've had an active hand in.

I'd imagine that Humphrey could put together a good sketch on the proceedings of Brexit today, pouring scorn on what happens when diplomacy is left to the politicians  :'(
