Has Vectoring Been Applied to My Circuit?
« on: August 17, 2017, 10:04:52 AM »

Hi
I have had a resync in the early hours of the morning and my attainable has jumped from 49 to 61 and my snr has jumped from 7.9 to 16.1 but my down load has dropped a bit , I am banded at 43998 and on a 55 /10 line with idnet

Stats on  MDWS same as username if some one would just have a quick check for me please

Thanks
Chris

What modem/router are you using?

Some report vectoring status.

Thanks
Using a Zyxel 9325 B10B

just checked and showing ( below ) i presume vectoring 1 full is vectoring  applied , would it be worth asking idnet to try and get my banding lifted

You do indeed have vectoring.

It's such a black art this VDSL. I have a lower attenuation but a considerably lower speed downstream and upstream. No G.INP or Vectoring, but presumably that's because I'm on an ECI cab at the end of some aluminium cable.

I know this adds nothing to the discussion, just thought I'd reiterate the 'them and us' thing  ;)

I wish that vectoring had not been enabled, had a steady 43998 for months and now the DLM system has been playing and down now to 28780 with a 19.6snr , had a few restarts yesterday due to thunderstorms and the electric going on and off  and just done a manual reboot now , will this pick up on its own

Cheers

You could use a modem that doesn't support vectoring

I contacted idnet to see about getting the banding lifted and after chatting and a few reboots of the router and cable swaps just to eliminate  my equipment I now have an engineer booked for the morning to reset my line.

The support I have had from idnet has been amazing and I can honestly say that I have never had support like this from any of the other providers I have used

This surprises me. As I understood it an engineer can only reset DLM if he/she found a fault on their (Openreach's) side and that they can't just be booked to solely reset DLM. If that really happens then that's amazing customer service.

With the reboots and thunderstorms that caused the electrics to have a few outages my speed had halfed so this may have also helped getting the call out

The Openreach engineer  has just left after been here for nearly 1.5 hours , checked all my line, no faults found , replaced the Mk 3 face plate with a new type that just clips in to place ,remade all the connections  in the master socket and did a DLM reset by telephone using the secret menu ( only known to telecom engineers , so he told me )

the test equipment that he was using was showing my line was running at 6.9 snr with a download speed of 31490 and upload 6.5 snr and 7800

He connected the cable back to the router (Zyxel 9325 b10b) and once synced the router was showing connected at 55000 with an snr of 9.7 download and 9526 and snr of 6.5 down  , the MDWS is showing that interleaving is applied and G.INP on the downstream only

Attainable is showing 62237 down,  he was suprised that I was synced at 55000 for the length of my line ,so vectoring must be doing something and no errors apart from  fec errors showing

Will see how it goes over the next 48 hours

Cheers
