G.INP Active or not?

I've just noticed on my router stats I'm getting (upstream and downstream):-

Actual INP:   0.0 symbols       0.0 symbols

Does this mean that G.INP has been removed from my line, since normally I get a downstream figure of around 47-52 symbols.

This is on a Huawei cabinet.

DSLStats should have an entry for G.INP what modem are you using?

Thanks for that link that explains a lot. As you are on 40m capped DLM has possibly disabled G.INP as at that level of sync errors will be low and G.INP not needed.

Yes it is the one that Dray was referring to.  My line has been up and down all morning after a period of high Error Seconds and dropped packets, finishing with some 30 minutes of downtime.  Oddly the dropped packets appeared to have reduced at the time the line went down.

Could have been work at the cabinet I suppose.  The relevant part of the data is now:

Actual INP:  0.0 symbols   3.0 symbols

Gien the number of dropped packets I would have thought the no of symbols would have increased.  It's still at 39,994 down 9,999 up and the max attainable is back at 57.971 Mbps so if it was work at the cabinet it's well, worked....

There are plenty of variables for G.INP being non Active

1. DLM reset to open profile or a soft reset to interleaving
2. Change of ISP
3. Change of DLM profile Standard to Speed or vice versa
4. Home move (New Line)
5. A new FTTC line activated at current Home location
6. New first Install of FTTC
7. Move from ECI cabinet to Huawei cabinet
8. Change of router to non G.INP compatible


If I have missed a variable please add to it

FWIW and AFAICT the only variables directly applicable to me are 1 & 3 above - both of which involve DLM, although I agree others transferring to Fibre could have an effect via increased cross-talk. 

Things look to be settling down now so I must assume the circa 30 minute outage was work at the cabinet.
