ZyXEL VMG1312-B10D Firmware
« on: July 25, 2017, 09:36:25 PM »

Kitz' recent update of the Openreach Modem Conformance Testing page prompted me to look at the the firmware image I have installed on my VMG1312-B10D and those still available from the ZyXEL Download Library page.

The Openreach MCT information specifies firmware image 5.11(AAXA.4)b2, which I find puzzling as it has never been available for download!

I have four images stored locally --
  • 5.11(AAXA.0)C0
  • 5.11(AAXA.1)C0
  • 5.11(AAXA.3)C0
  • 5.11(AAXA.4)C0
-- and am using the most recent, 5.11(AAXA.4)C0.

Does anyone have a copy of either 5.11(AAXA.2)C0 or 5.11(AAXA.4)b2 that they could share, please?

I think b2 denotes beta firmware and C0 denotes release firmware from what I have read. There should be little difference between the latest beta 2 and the release C0 you have on file or is it just for completeness?

Just looked at the list and the VMG1312-B10A is showing as firmware level V1.00(AAJZ.6)C1_20150911 which is quite old as I am currently running 1.00(AAJZ.11)C0 which was just released in February this year. The 2015 version is not available from ZyXEL that is listed on the MCT.

Thank you for your -B10A's details and interpretation.  :)

Expanding on your interpretation, perhaps "A" is alpha firmware, "B" is beta firmware and "C" is for normal release. And perhaps we should regard the Openreach MCT data as listing the minimum or earliest acceptable firmware images for the so named devices.  :-\

Either that or there is a two year lag between MCT testing and firmware release.
