Looking forward to having speeds of 76Mb (Quoted) compared to my rather abismal 16 when i previously had FTTC on the old cabinet.

Some folk would love an "abysmal" 16meg.

interested in what made openreach do this network rearranging, as typically its a no no unless state subsidised.

I believe it was funded by BDUK, they apparently do provide a few 'infill' cabinets to improve performance, the planning link for the new cab if anybody is interested is http://www.whitehorsedc.gov.uk/java/support/dynamic_serve.jsp?ID=748370461&CODE=C81EE76A381374E9DFBC6EC5A09D9CAF. I think the real reason though is that they just built 100 new houses down the road and the old cabinet was already maxed out in capacity.

Connection was competed today, but I'm a little bit confused. So my HG612 and plusnet one hub both  say the attainable rate of the line is 72Mb down and 19 up but when doing a speed test the upload is in the high 18's and the download is 2.8??? everything is syncing at the right speed but the actual.

Have you done a disconnect/connect since the initial connection? If not try one.

Yep, tried reconnecting and have used 2 modems + routers. The line stats are fine which is odd.

oddly enough the download is the same exact speed as ADSL I had before. The upload is great (19Mb) but the download test always maxes out between 2.5 and 3. Is my IP profile left the same as ADSL or something?

Have you spoken to Plusnet?

They have their own profiling system, seperate to that of BT Wholesale.

What does https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed say for your current line speed?

I am very confident this is a profile issue plusnet side, report it to them and make it clear its a adsl to fttc regrade.

Almost certain it is that - the link I've given will confirm. When that says the right figure it might need a disconnect/connect to pick up the correct speed.

You need to speak to Plusnet and ask them to change the profile to match your current line speed.
