Stuck IP Profile on FTTC 3db

Hello

it seems my line is now on a 3db noise margin. I used to sync the full 79999 back before coss talk a few years ago and it slowly went down to about 71Mb sync. Well to my delight when I saw my line rysnc around midday each day and lower the noise margin first to 5db giving me around 74Mb sync then 4db giving me 77Mb sync and finally 3db (3.5 due to hitting the max again) 79999 again where it has stayed.

However I did notice each day even though these faster syncs the first day there was no increase in IP profile. Then as the days went on I would get the IP Profile from the speed the day before. So now I am stuck on a 74.1Mb IP profile. I would expect around 77.35 again with max sync.

It has been a few days and I have turned off the modem and router for 30 mins still it is stuck.

is isp plusnet?

if yes ask them to fix it.

ok your problem is unusual, disconnect from the PPP session wait a minute or so and then reconnect, the profile is suppose to sync up on every PPP connect.

If that still doesnt work you will have to report it as a fault.

I have tried this a few times I dont want to try any more today as we have done this twice already. BT Were unhelpful and would not pass it to openreach as they say my line is giving me within limits etc. They did give me the line test details though:

As you can see the configured rate is showing as wrong. This is stuck yet they wont escalate it. I even asked to talk to a manager who would not.

what profile do you see on the bt wholesale test?

I am not sure that cvlan is the ip profile and if it is its only slighltly lower then what I would expect.

hopefully someone else can chime in here with their thoughts.

Having the same problem with my parents' line.

Synced at 37 down, but IP profile is stuck at 29.8.... risked a reboot of the hub, sync was roughly the same but IP still stuck.

Might it be a broader BT issue?

Looks like line resynced again today. DS went from 79999 to 80000 but IP profile became unstuck.

 Download speedachieved during the test was - 77.2 Mbps

SVLAN Status: AMBER Could give you slow downs (throughput at peak times ) should be Green, though this is a separate issue, i had a stuck BTIP profile when i was with PN, they at first tried fobbing me off, i e-mailed their CEO
