Does DLM act on far or near end error seconds or both?
« on: June 14, 2017, 09:43:04 PM »

Hi,

I have connected a Draytek 2860n for the first time to my line. A quick look at the line stats and... oh my goodness what a lot of error seconds. Its no wonder DLM is treating me so badly.

So my questions are 1) does DLM act on near or far end error seconds, or both.
2) When will these line stats reset - or are these figures for the last 24 hours - I guess I might find out tomorrow?

Incidentally, far end in Drayteks terms is the exchange / cabinet equipment and near end is your own modem.

I have posted my line stats below. I have just swapped out an Asus DSL-AC68U which put me onto interleaved from years of fast path stability. Looks like the Asus wasn't behaving with 2326 error seconds

It is known, from observations, that the DLM process monitors the ES for both DS and US. So in terms of your first question, the answer is "both".

Those counters will be reset upon a circuit re-train or a device re-boot (the latter will, obviously, result in a circuit re-train).

as burakkucat stated, but just to add it acts on them independently of each other so e.g. high ES on the US will not cause DS to be adjusted by DLM, just the US.
