I like it that BT have finally removed the now outdated old way of capping products. I always said this had to happen. But damn.. Infinity 2 at £44.99 per month! and £53.99 after.. wow.. thats a lot of money per month. Hopefully its at least going to build the funds for G.fast  ;)

I assume this includes line rental hence the figures seeming massive.

Why the difference in infinity 1 and 2 set up fees? Surely both yield the same work for BT operatives.

marketing tricks I guess, note infinity 2 monthly price isnt discounted as heavily as infinity 1, probably the extra £30 merged into that.

That is expensive,  IDNet is cheaper at £41.40 per month, although no cash back or gift cards, but no doubt much better service and support.

Not for the equivalent package though.

IDNet is £45 a month for their 55/10 package and £49.80 for 80/20, so not a lot in it over 48 months assuming you don't haggle a better deal for year 2.

I would still go with IDNet like a shot though rather than risk the vagaries of BT Broadband delivery.

That's kinda scary pricing given VM charge £47.25 a month for 300Mb stand-alone broadband and £47 a month for a year on 300Mb + line rental.

BT do give healthy discounts to customers renewing contracts though - I have Infinity 1 @ £25.99/month and was offered Infinity 2 at £33.50/month (2 year contract) when I renewed last month

I see what you mean, I missed the from bit on the price, saw the up to 76/19 and thought it was for an 80/20 package.

My price never went up and I'm out of contract. I guess this is aimed at new customers. I'm thinking they have to sign up to paying that out of contract price when they sign the contract.

For someone using < 150GB per month BT have managed to undercut AAISP - by £0.01p on the charge for the first 12 months! Thereafter they are more expensive.

They mean introductory offer prices. It's not something aimed at new customers but has been standard practice for years.  If your price has never gone up then you didn't sign up during a promotion and were paying full price from day 1.
