Confused by the acronyms used by members? Check the glossary
« on: February 22, 2017, 07:03:56 PM »

Not really the place for this but it's one of the more popular sub-forums. I was just reading a post and came across "DP". Probably not going to have much luck googling that but no problem. I found the glossary :)

* Note to self: be more subtle next time *  ;)

It's all good. Less typing means you regular Kitizens can spend more time helping others :) It's a rite of passage in most tech/niche forums to go from mild confusion to comprehension. Feels like I'm cheating by using the glossary!

Have never liked those apprevaiation on tech forums it's ok once you get to know them but it can confuse new members like this one a classic example SSFP = Service Specific Face Plate and had a good laugh with OR engineer on who makes those complex words up for what is just a filtered face plate (FFP)

We could start a new contest . . . Who can write the longest sentence just using TLAs.  :D

It is those acronyms which are made up of other acronyms that tend to make me go  ???

Example:

CWMP == CPE WAN Management Protocol == Customer Premises Equipment Wide Area Network Management Protocol.

Bah! TR-069 is so much simpler!  ::)
