Just thought I would add some food for thought to this.
I moved into my house in December 2014 and tried a set of Solwise homeplugs in the house. Interleaving was immediately applied to my line and over a few weeks it came down to 16/1. I bought a Netgear D7000 several months later (Maybe June 2015) and it came down again to 8/1. Fast forward to today and I just had a resync and now back on an interleave depth of 1/1. Unfortunately I have now lost about 5mbps off my download speed but on the positive it seems to have shaved around 5-6ms off my ping times.

So it has basically taken my line approx 2 years to return to normal.

Edit: Just looking at it properly now, G.INP was switched off two days ago.
