VDSL2 Pilot Reference point
« on: February 16, 2017, 06:06:41 PM »

Hi all, I noticed that the VDSL2 Pilot Reference point, has moved left, to a lower part of the frequency spectrum following a reboot.
Does this have any impact on Download/Upload speed or is it coincidence that I've gained another 1Mb download and 2Mb upload to my connection.
Pic Pilot1 was with yesterdays connection (also shows high and lowest bit loading in orange over 15 days)
Pilot2 taken today after reboot, following an 'Event' reconnecting me at 40Mb (attainable 48Mb) download (Profile J43 ???), so I forced a modem reboot on my fritzbox3490, bringing my connection back up to 54Mb (attainable 54Mb on A43).

The pilot tone(s) won't affect much. I think no data bits are carrier by the pilot tone(s) on VDSL2. So it's moved from a tone that could carry fewer data bits to a tone that otherwise could have carried more data bits, so very slightly reducing the total bandwidth. So your bandwidth increase is probably unrelated.
