Was it an engineer or self installation? Other than looking at the data, do you notice any untoward behaviour of the circuit?

I guess it really depends as to what is your ISP/CP's policy and how ready they would be to make a report "upstream" in the supply chain.

If you do report a fault, please update this thread with the progress.

my ISP is BT. Anyway I should be moving to plusnet in one month or so I think I will leave it to that time when there will be the new engineer visit at the cabinet

There will be no need for an engineer to visit the cabinet as you're already connected to FTTC.

. . . I think I will leave it to that time when there will be the new engineer visit at the cabinet

That does not follow.   A migration from one provider to another, for a G.993.2 based service, does not require any activity at either cabinet -- neither the PCP nor its twin.

Edit: I see ejs is faster at the keyboard than myself.

Right if no activity is required why do you get charged for activation?

Because they can, there is a small migration fee the CPs pay which they have often absorbed in the past, but following the regulation changes regarding line rental pricing they have thrown their toys out of the pram and decided to not subsidise it anymore, some even profit on it.  It is what it is.

Unless the cabinet is full then your physical connection would remain as it is during the migration so no engineer needed.

The line should still go in training and after that it could fall below the minimum speed and at that point I could call an engineer, I guess

As long as you can get the minimum guaranteed speed from plusnet at the time you place the order then you can use that as evidence but ISP's seem to focus on the downstream/download than upstream.

I doubt you'll find an ISP that will give you a minimum guaranteed upload 8mb from the results you showed us. That's well within accepted limits.

One problem with this is that VDSL has no training period. DLM immediately takes effect and if errors exceed the limits will take action. There is no testing the water with VDSL.

Plusnet is fairly daft in that they only offer self-install then seem to be all up for accepting a fault whenever someone's speed is below the low A estimate. There may well be not very much for a visiting Openreach person to do when the speed is only slightly below the estimate.

I hope the OP realises that the PlusNet Unlimited Fibre product is 40Mbps down 2Mbps up. This isn't made clear on their website without some digging. The more expensive Unlimited Fibre Extra product is 80Mbps down 20Mbps up but is it worth it for a line that can only expect to get a maximum of around 50Mbps download.

PN might not even judge his line worthy of the 80/20 package forcing him on to the 40/2 package. I've been with PN for 13 years, but it's not an ISP I would move to now. I certainly can't see them willing to do anything about his upload speed.

PS The OP may want to read the first post here

Thanks guys I had not noticed that plusnet had reduced the upload speed
Still the fibre extra offer is cheaper than BT offer to have a new deal so I am going to go with that anyway and I guess I will open a ticket pretty soon as my clean A is 53-13 however the attainable is more like 44-9 let's see what happens!
