So the article is saying Ofcom is still pushing forward with its plans too;

It is a good opening statement by Mike McTighe.

I know a few of the longer serving OR engineers I've seen commented that BT/OR should have been putting more fibre down every time they had to dig things up for maintenance.

We'll have to see how Mike acts though, as talk is good. But actions are better. His first test for him will be the deployment of G.fast and how smoothly that goes.
