Voneus Brings 100Mbps Fibre Optic Broadband to Rural Miserden

Quote
Homes in the rural Gloucestershire village of Miserden have apparently been taken out of the broadband “dark ages” after a little known VoIP provider called Voneus built a new fibre optic (FTTP/H) and wireless network into the area, which has made speeds of 100Mbps available to residents.

At present we know very little about the Hertfordshire based Voneus and their website is similarly sparse on detail, although the effort to build a new network in the area has apparently been in the planning phase since 2015 and is a joint project with the local Miserden Estates.

The network, which connects some properties via a pure FTTH fibre optic line and others via a fibre fed fixed wireless network (W-FTTH), was deployed alongside the roll-out of a new district water scheme and that helped to keep the costs under control (we aren’t told how much it cost).
