Post Office Adopts All-in-One UK Pricing for Broadband and Phone

Quote
The Post Office has confirmed that their website will today be updated to reflect the Advertising Standards Authority‘s new all-inclusive pricing guideline, which nudges ISPs to combine the cost of phone line rental and broadband into a single price.

Readers may recall that the Post Office has already hiked their related prices during July 2016 and thus today’s change should simply act to combine the two costs into a single price. As the provider now only offers a single unlimited broadband bundle then the standard price for this (currently £10 a month for broadband + £16.99 line rental) should change to £26.99 per month.

However they are currently running a special discount until the end of the year, which means that you pay £3 a month for the first 18 months of broadband (£10 thereafter) and so we wouldn’t be surprised if the adjusted price was changed to be a total of £19.99 per month for 18 months (£26.99 thereafter).

The Post Office also offers an annual pre-paid Line Rental Saver discount instead of standard line rental, which costs £179.88 per year or the equivalent of £14.99 per month (instead of the usual £16.99 standard charge). It’s likely this may be tweaked slightly to match the 18 month term, but we’ll check again once the changes are live later today.
