Someone else has the same IP address?

Ah, now that is an interesting postulation.

Yes, I believe so . . . or something very similar.

Update....

Oh why do these things move at the speed of a glacier?

anyway...
I'd been using TTBs test login credentials which works perfectly and I had an email from TTB to say that the problem was all fixed...
So I login with my own user name and password and guess what? The PPPoA is still dropping.

after a few phone calls to their support I (note 'I') suggest taking me off a static IP and on to a dynamic IP which the guy does. He also changes my password as he said that someone else could be using my login details... Is that even possible?! I guess it could be!

So after doing that the PPPoA is now NOT dropping and it seems to have fixed the problem. well, more of a work round as I suspect that if I went back on to a static IP the problem would return... But as far as TTB are concerned the problem is sorted.

The only reason I had a static IP in the first place was that TTB were giving me black listed IP addresses so my emails were bouncing. So let's just hope my dynamic IP addresses are nice and clean!

I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the password change - just a pity the guy at TTB didn't try one at a time then we'd know which was responsible for the problem.

Thanks
John
