I feel that I should clarify . . . I have been a TalkTalk service user for over nine years and like j0hn, have not had any problem with the actual service (both telephony and broadband connection to the Internet). 

I have never made use of the overseas call centre(s) and on the one occasion when I needed a configuration tweak, I used the members forum.

Just in case --

• IDCs == Insulation displacing connectors
• SSFP == Service specific face-plate (i.e. the centralised filter)

Thanks both - makes me feel better.

Hopefully I experience the same whether it be Coop, Talk Talk or BT. 

Just not overly positive at the moment given the current wiring issue!

So, another engineer's been to have a look at the box and I therefore thought it was worth updating the thread.

Basically, he opened the box and after a bit of a discussion said he needed to go and make a call. Not sure why? But, when he came back he agreed the wiring was wrong. The wiring has now been changed and everything seems to work much better.

I'm pleased to know that the wiring defect has been resolved. Hopefully the service will now be satisfactory.
