Be interested to see if there's an improvement from the older ZyXEL models, which always performed quite poorly on my line :(

Just make sure you disable tr069 if you get one that has been used on kcom network.

Hi skyeci,
I have just purchased the 8924 on eBay and intend to use it as a modem only. Can you explain how I disable tr069?
The tr069 client is enabled and if I select disable and try and save it it says user name and password are invalid.
Thanks and regards
Clive

I've been using the VMG3925-B10B on my line for about a month now and it's achieved decent sync rates (for my line), errors seem minimal, etc. Overall pretty happy. Wireless range is average and the UI takes some getting used to. There's no auto configure for VDSL, so took some effort to get it up and running out of the box.

It's worth noting the B10A version of this (which has additional antennas) is reserved for OEMs/ISPs only, so doesn't look like you can get that via retail channels.

I got a VMG3925-B10B delivered yesterday and a 8324 last week.

The VMG3925-B10B is supposedly brand new, box it arrived in was really battered, accessories look like they not brand new as not in original sealed wrapping and most importantly there is something loose rattling inside the router, possibly a screw.

I brought these whilst my line still had a fault thinking I would need to fight high ES, but now turns out I dont need either router but will keep one of them as a just in case situation.  My preference would be to keep the VMG3925-B10B as its a more modern design, and a newer model.  Assuming the unit I have works with its loose rattly part and that it has the filter and not one of the budget broadcom chipsets.

If I sell one of these on here, I will set the price for what I paid for it plus postage so I get my money back but no profit.  I only paid £50 for each device which from what I could find is a lot less than their normal price, so reselling at same cost should be a bargain, if I do sell on here, I will test first the unit works.

Old thread I know but the post seems relevant.

The thread describes 2 devices, the VMG3925-B10B and VMG3926-B10A.

A picture of the VMG3926-B10A's board was posted and it was confirmed it had the common mode noise filter that gives certain zyxel models that better sync/error rate many appreciate.

I noticed sometime ago there was an AA article about the VMG3925-B10B that states

Quote
It's believed that the VMG3925 has an extra common-mode noise filter on the telephone line. Kitz discussion

It links to this page.

Does it really have the filter though? This page only confirmed the VMG3926-B10A has the filter.

For completeness I have provided an image supplied by AA of the VMG3925-B10B

Thoughts?
