Disappearing text cursor / insertion point in Safari iPad
« on: March 29, 2017, 02:04:57 AM »

I have lost the text cursor in Safari on the iPad (iOS 10). It just isn't there when typing into a multi line edit box, nor when typing into the address line, and this obviously requires typing blind which is very difficult. Everything else works as normal. I had to kill the process to get rid of the problem, by doing a swipe-upwards in the usual way. It's not the first time this has happened, but it is infrequent. Has anyone else seen this.

I've seen it before, or very similar on my Android tablet, only certain websites exhibited the behaviour which was very annoying. No idea what caused it though.

Which web browser?

It was when using kitz, both when entering text into a multiline edit box and into the address bar, so there was no way it could be to do with the particular web page.

I can't really remember now, but I think it was kitz and chrome on my Android tablet, but only affected typing replies, address bar was fine.

Ronski's issue is unrelated then, as it was a browser-internal thing specific to Safari, because it was not just in the web page content even.
