The above is result of my configuration of the device. I stress that is how the device is configured and not how the circuit is operating . . .

As I understand it, the VMG1312-B10D uses the same Broadcom budget SoC as the 8800NL N2. I tested the latter and found its performance relatively disappointing - both the HG612 and the VMG8324-B10A (which I'm now using in bridge mode) connected at a higher speed with similar error levels. Every line is different of course, so there's always going to be an element of suck-it-and-see with these comparisons.

Yes, quite a number if I recall correctly! Now who was it that wrote a proof of concept, statistics harvesting code

Sorry I dont think I phrased the question correctly.  I know you had some HG612s (one of which later found a home here).
I meant the modem you had on the line previously with full stats.  I was unsure if you were running the tp-link for wifi only (which I think at one point you said you were considering) or had more recently been using the VR900 as a combined modem/router.   I think I recall prior to the VR900 you may also have been using a different Huawei modem..  so it was stats I was after.

I have just tried this modem/router (in bridge mode) on my 46 dB ADSL Max line and found it synched 500 kbps lower on the downstream 6432 kbps verses >6816 kbps on my hg635.

I tweaked the snmr (down to 4.8) to get into my preferred BRAS band; actually i missed the magic 6816 band after 3 tweaks so I did not perform any more reconnections.

Some 14 hours later the modem stopped bit swapping; so the zyxel was returned to its box and the hg635 resumed service.

Ah, now I understand. I was using a Huawei HG622 as a modem/router but did not continue to harvest circuit statistics once DSLstats failed to execute on my Linux kernel based systems.

For all the time I was using the TP-Link VR900, it was operating in modem/router mode.

I've had a bad experience with this modem on ECI high amounts of DS error I switched back to a HG612 and have noticed immediate improvements to the US SNR and the DS errors are far lower.

Attached image is change from the VMG1312-BD10D to HG612.
