TP-LINK UK - Recruiting Beta Testers
« on: June 28, 2016, 09:29:41 PM »

As some of you may already be aware that in the past TP-Link have worked with and used members of the Kitz forums for various beta testing of modems/routers and revised f/w versions etc.
An opportunity has arisen to recruit a team of UK beta testers and TP-Link has invited members of the kitz community to apply to be part of their beta testing team.

Quote
‘TP-LINK  believe real-world testing is an important step in product development, it enables to get user feedback so we can provide customers the best quality solutions with the best user experience possible. If you are interested in testing our products before they launch, please read through the following instructions before applying.

We cannot guarantee you will be selected immediately as a tester.  We will however keep your details on file and contact you as soon as the first suitable product is available TP-LINK is committed to improving the products and user experience through user feedback. This beta test will assess the latest products including Routers, Powerline Adapters, Range Extender, Smart Home products and SMB products. In return for your valuable feedback you may keep the sample product after the testing period ends. ’

If you are interested and wish to apply, then please complete the application form here

I suggest you add your forum member name in the additional section of the application form eg Kitz Forum member: 'username'
If accepted you will have access to a beta test section of the forum and be able to give direct feedback to their UK Product Manager.

If you have any further questions or comments please add below.

Has anyone had any problems registering on the TP-Link support forums?

I've registered but haven't received an email to 'confirm' my registration and I note that the name of the newest member to join that forum hasn't changed all day..

Yes, exactly my findings here.

(I've sent an email to them seeking clarification but (as yet) haven't had a reply back) ...

My registration was the same, it's accepted me as a user and I can log in.

Reading the email I received I think they will grant you access manually?
without a confirmation email.
Just a guess anyway.

Signed up, though noticed this a little late sadly.

I'd be intrigued as I certainly had some feedback on the VR900 (ultimately returning.. though it was a fine line) so it would be good to provide feedback on other options.

I agree that according to their email, TP-Link should grant us access to the 'Beta Test' area manually.

However, I think the point that RayW and I are making is that without the usual 'confirmation your email address' email our forum accounts are not fully functional (for instance - if we wanted to post a message on their normal forums and didn't know anything about a beta test program)

I see the name of the 'newest member' on the forum has changed overnight, so some must be able to successfully complete the registration/confirmation process (FWIT I used a gmail address for my account)
