Unless anyone can confirmed starting off at 52Mbs then upgrading to 76Mbs will be worth it then ill just go straight to the 76Mbs. I thought it would help get some of my speed back. My max data rate was near the 80's then dropped to around 69Mbs, so I get 64Mbs actual speed.

I don't see anything suggesting that Plusnet will offer the 55/10 service except to customers who are currently on their obsolete 40/20.   Has anyone not on that service been offered 55/10?

So my switch to Plusnet was completed yesterday and I can confirm that my line has undergone some sort of reset. It has gone back to syncing at the full speed.

Code: [Select]
current linestatus
state: UP
mode: VDSL2
mod type: Profile 17a
snr margin down: 76
snr margin up: 148
latn down: 143
latn up: 140
satn down: 0
satn up: 0
output power down: 19
output power up: 141
rate down: 79987
rate up: 19999
attainable rate down: 86232000
attainable rate up: 23044000
chantype: fast

IP profile has gone back to where it should be.

Code: [Select]
IP Profile for your line is - 77.42 Mbps
The line resynced at 6 AM yesterday, at which point, the access circuit to BT was removed. During that resync, the line jumped back to this new speed. Took the best part of the day for the Plusnet service to come online.

I can't imagine that a BT engineer was out at that time so all the changes appeared to have been carried out remotely.

So far so good with Plusnet. Internet access is just as snappy as it was with BT. Plus bonus static IP! Haven't noticed the effect of their traffic management yet, but still early days.

So did you change from BT 76Mbs to Plusnet 76Mbs and it reset?

That was change of vendor rather than change of product.  ;)

It depends if the ISP you are moving to uses a different profile or not, if they both use the same e.g. Speed and Speed, there won't be a DLM reset performed.

both bt and Plusnet use the speed profile.
changing provider should always perform a reset, just the banding has stuck with others.

around 69mb? do you know exactly what it syncs at? if it's not the exact same every time then no you wouldn't gain any speed
