Can anyone tell me the difference between these two models?

I believe the modem chipset on the X4S is by Lantiq? Is it the same in the 100UKS?

I think there's only one D7800 model, X4S might be an extra bit to indicate some wifi capability (like the R7800), the D7800 has X4S, 100UKS might indicate its power supply has a UK plug, or cables with plugs for UK phone sockets.

Yes its VDSL2 modem is Lantiq chips (VRX320). The rest of the chips, CPU, Ethernet, WiFi etc., are Qualcomm Atheros.

Strange as PC World are advertising two models but at different prices

If there is no difference then X4S it is as I took my D7000 back this morning as the SNR kept dropping and never recovered even on the latest 1.0.0.34 firmware.

I am however on an ECI cabinet so hopefully the Lantiq chipset will work better for me.

Currently back on my ZxXEL SBG3300-N with a slightly higher sync rate but a steady SNR too, still a BCM chipset but for me it is better then the one in the D7000 and actually the best unit I've tried on my line to date unfortunately I now need 5Ghz Wifi and it doesn't have it

The R7800 doesn't have any modem. The advertised product title is wrong. It'll be the R7800.

LOL didn't notice that just read the title which says NETGEAR Nighthawk X4S R7800 Wireless Modem Router totally missed the R7800.

The specification also states Modem Router for both models, dear oh dear PC World!

Well spotted that man.

Oh well there was me about to save £19.20
