Unlocked HG612 - How Do I Enable G.INP on the Line?
« on: April 30, 2016, 09:47:07 AM »

Hello everyone,

At the moment, the connection does not have G.INP enabled on the line, is there anyway to enable G.INP on the Unlocked HG612 it's self, or can I make the cabinet enable it from my end, by ringing up BT ?

G.Inp is implemented on your line as and when it is required under the control of DLM.

Anyway to contact the DLM, im in the UK

DLM is all automatic an ISP cannot make any changes to it.

G.INP is a 2 part process

1) It has to be enabled on the DSLAM
2) It has to be enabled on your DLM profile.

Both the end-user and the ISP has no control over DLM for FTTC lines.
There is an issue at the moment with G.INP on ECI cabinets and its appears to be being disabled for a lot of lines.

Ive had a quick look.. as really I should have been out of here >20 mins ago :/

Line seems to be operating within normal parameters for the line length.
Its too early to say much about your SNRm as that needs to be monitored for a bit longer before we can say anything about that.
Hlog is lovely.
QLN shows a quite a few noise spikes.  D1 could be RFI, D3 - Im uncertain whats going on there.  The lower tones in D3 look like they could be crosstalk.

Your SNRM plot is very close to being two straight lines, nothing of concern to be seen there. Your plots of both FECs and CRCs are not perfect but, once again, I would not be too concerned.

What is worrying is the significant number of error seconds per hour for the DS. They are of such a level that all three stability levels are showing amber for the DS.

As you are connected via an ECI equipped cabinet and the status of such cabinets' configuration & firmware is still in a state of flux, I would not be overly worried at this moment. If the performance of your circuit further deteriorates, then it will need some closer observations.

I have a belkin play powerline hd500 ethernet plug right next to the line (model F5D4085v1), so a ruler length away, from the modem and the bt master socket, I recall some where on the interwebs, that powerline ethernet plugs can cause errors on the line, could this be the cause ?  ???

Some of us, including myself, view "home plugs", "powerline Ethernet plugs" (or what ever is the latest name for such devices) as pure evil.

Other people find they work well.

My only suggestion is that you experiment and do without using those devices for a few days. If your error seconds drop to zero (or near zero) then you will have a clear answer to the question for your own personal situation.
