Ok where is the option for PPP reconnection on my router? I cant see it.

Why is this problem happening now after several months of owning the router?

On that page, over at the right where it says Edit .. that takes you to the page where you put your username and password.  Underneath there should be three options, "Always On", "Connect on Demand" and "Connect Manually".    Always On is what you want.

Ok understood, I checked that option and its already set to that by default.

I changed default AUTO to CHAP. Lets see what happens. I report back with updates.

In the meantime is there any more settings I can change that makes the router more secure and private without sacrificing performace?

I change the settings as advised in this thread but I still have the same problem  :(

Problem happens like every few days and on a rare unlucky day it happens twice a day.

To fix this problem I have to manually change the authentication type settings to either AUTO or CHAP.

Please advise.

Either your router has gone faulty (these things happen) or Plusnet have changed something so that you are not automatically re-authenticating when disconnected.

Did Plusnet send you a router?  If so, try that for few days and see if that keeps dropping.  If so, it's a Plusnet problem, if not then the TP-Link is goosed.

Do a full 30 30 30 reset...see it that sorts it
With power connected
Press reset button for 30 seconds...pull power lead out...keep reset button pressed...30 seconds again...plug power back in...keep reset pressed for the last 30 seconds

The full 30 30 30 reset rule, does this rule apply to my router or can be applied to all routers?

I just thought it was worth a try....if you have ever upgraded the firmware a full reset may clear out any anomalies.
