How can I add a custom log entry with DGTeam firmware?
« on: August 30, 2015, 04:59:29 PM »

I would be grateful if anybody can tell me how to add a custom entry to the router logs that are emailed to me each day.

I have a Netgear DG834PN with DGTeam firmware V1.03.39 - Rev. 1018

I gave up trying to add new services to the DDNS section - I am not sure if it is poorly documented or if it has a bug.

However, I have successfully enabled my free DDNS service via the following script in the 'ADSL connection' section in the Custom Setup area. This appears very reliable despite setting dynu DNS servers at Gandi and then setting MX at dynu to direct my email back to Gandi:

ewget  "https;//api.dynu.com/nic/update?username=MY-NAME&password=MY-PASSWORD"

All attempts to send ewget output, or any message, to my logs have failed. I have tried  >> /var/log/messages and can see the results with cat but my messages are either filtered out or /var/log/messages is not the correct location.
