Be* to expand to another 400 exchanges by the end of June

Be* Unlimited announced this morning that they are to expand their LLU network to nearly 400 more exchanges between now and the end of June 2008, increasing their coverage to 67% of the UK population.

Around the time of their takeover by O2, they cancelled their plans to unbundle a number of exchanges, which disappointed many people. Now, it seems, this was just a temporary setback, and the unbundling efforts are back with a vengeance!

Check to see if your exchange is due to Be* (!) upgraded, using the site's ADSL Checker which will tell you if your exchange has a go-live date, and what the date is.

SamKnows has a complete list of the proposed exchanges and planned go-live dates here.

So if your exchange does not already have Be* LLU kit installed, check it out - it might do soon!

Hi

Don't quite know who to tell, but the exchange listed for my line was shut at least 8 years ago.

Funny enough I noticed one night last weeks that all lights were blazing in the exchange at 10pm.   
Could be a fault or any other reason - but the last time I noticed lights on at night was around the time they put the AOL dslam in.
