I am reading a number of posts/articles that are focused on the same general points that MS is collecting lots of data for not too clear purposes.
It is just a short step away from the OS will not work unless you are on-line. (To facilitate a greater user experience

They tried it with games, so why not try is with something more important/vital like the OS you use.
I am still incredulous at the ease with which people throw away their privacy & their family/friends/contacts privacy as well; for a 'Free' OS upgrade that you will pay for anyway once you are locked in.
After lock-in all rules can/will change.
Lets see what the landscape looks like in 12 months. Windows 8 will seem a fond memory by then.
