Keyboard Fault.
« on: July 30, 2015, 01:13:45 PM »

My keyboard not working on Face Book, Kitz etc, or any other than email.
I typed this and cut and pasted it.

Can you offer a possible cause please?

Odd. Might help to know what the OS is and how the kb is connected to whatever.

If Windows, have a look in Device Manager and see if it shows any missing drivers (yellow triangles with exclamation marks on them) that might indicate the problem...

Well the keyboard obviously works as Peter managed to type the text of the post into some other app. It’s not possible for there to be a keyboard driver problem.

It sounds like Peter is using a _web browser_ (which one?) that is mis-behaving, in that keypresses are ignored or no displayed text appears in the web browser when one would expect it to.

Peter, does Alt+TAB work?  -Hold down the Alt key and tap the Tab key

or Ctrl+Alt-Esc ? - hold down both Alt and Ctrl key and tap the Esc key

Ctl +Alt+Esc takes me back to the topic notification email on this topic

I think the problem may be with Chrome as my wife is having similar problems on her laptop running Win 7

I presume that a wireless keyboard would be fitted with batteries. Do they contain enough power? Do they need changing?  :-\

Hi

I believe from memory that there is a hard reset for the keyboard issue.

You will have to google though, and I seem to remember that it is depressing 2 keys

If I have time I'll try to find the details

Many thanks

I have had enough of Chrome's antics for a while, just installed Firefox, didn't really like it a few years ago so maybe it will grow on me this time. :fingers:

Many thanks for all the input.

Regards,
