Chris Conder's magnum opus
« on: July 16, 2015, 05:40:09 PM »

Gentlefolk,

Some of you might be interested in reading Chris Conder's tome which covers many aspects of our current UK situation.

http://www.trefor.net/2015/07/01/rural-broadband-solutions/

I think I have also brought this to the attention of the Minister of State too.
Sadly, during the third recent debate, he seems to think he is dealing with a load of whingers.

Kind regards,
Walter

Thank you for the link, Walter.

I do believe I have already read that article . . .  ;D

Gentlefolk,

Here's another little amusement some of you might like to look at as a sort of prototype speed-mapping exercise of predicted speeds.
(They are also actual speeds for those with a B4RN service.)

This is the full area version for those with PCs

For the fastidious amongst you I should point out that BT at long last appear to be offering their FTTH in a very few parts of Dolphinholme but I doubt many would accept their more expensive and still "up to" asymmetric solution. However it is possibly not quite ready as you have to call BT rather than positively stating its availability as demonstrated for the Fat Lamb in Fell End. IMHO this might be some Lancashire CC face-saving exercise which merely helps to accentuate the positive !

This is a reduced version for Apple Macs that seem to be having a hissy fit at the moment.

I am sorry to say that the first link was completely unusable. It seemed to be plagued with unresponsive Java-scripts.  :(
