Hey all,

My ADSL comes in over a fax line direct to the master socket.  I have the white/blue and blue/white cables coming into the rear of the master socket and they are screwed into ports labeled A and B.

I have no extensions running from the master socket and my ADSL micro filter is plugged in directly to the master socket.  When the fax rings the ADSL drops the connection.

I've tested the micro filter on the test socket but the same thing happens.

If I was to change the face plate to a XTE-2005 or the NTE-2005 would this help, and I out of the 2, which would you recommend?

try double filtering the fax machine (not the ADSL)

Fitted the XTE-2005 and then applied the microfilter as well to the fax but it's still dropping the broadband when the fax rings.

Any other thoughts or trouble shooting advice?

Try ringing the fax machine when the only thing connected is the router

With the fax unplugged and the BB the only item connected it still disconnects.

In which case you need to raise a fault via your ISP as it is a line or line card fault

The problem maybe the Master Socket the electronic circuitry on the NTE5 itself thats the problem you can purchase one and fit it yourself thats up to you, but if you have never done any stuff like this before then you will need an OR engineer to visit your premises.

I'm comfortable replacing, however, were due to change BB supplier so I'll do that first and see what line tests they do.

If still playing up I'll replace the socket.
