All,

Thanks very much for all of your answers....

I have passed this fault to PlusNet CS as well as the frequantly disconnection problem, and they come back with a "Battery Contact Fault" which I think would be the main reason for this....now it relies on the poor condition of my line.

I will post back here on any updates.

Thanks again!

Wasnt ignoring your stats, its just the line had only been up for a short while and there was nothing much to see when it came to stability.
Logging your SNRm over the course of a day and seeing how it varies would perhaps be most useful

Good luck with the reported line fault and please do keep us updated

OK thank you for your advise....it did drop a lot even since I posted the status here....

I was watching the CRC errors doruing the last couple of days and generally it was fine, but the errors bursted in a short peroid of time and the DSL disconnected and re-connected... taking the "Battery Contact Fault" into account it looks like someone might be using their phones and the noise affected me..

Definitely will update here!

Cheers.

I should imagine at that time your SNRm will have spiked downwards too.  Plusnet are usually pretty good at taking DSLstats and/or HG612 modem stat graphs as proof that something odd is going on with your line.

Hi,

I've just bought a reasonably new VMG8924 and I am having the same issue.  Again, and possibly anecdotally when my gf is uploading large amount of data to dropbox.  I am on also on an ADSL line although i get approx 7Mbps down and 400kbps up.

I'm also running the 7C0 version of firmware.

Regards

Might be worth trying the 10C0 f/w which is available. I am running that and have not had that issue. See my thread on this router for the dropbox location, it is also on their FTP site now.

apologise for coming back so late, but OR have just managed to fix my Battery Contact fault (according to them). But I still having some disconnections (abour 2 hrs interval).....when switched back to the Technicolor 582n provided by Plusnet it seems to be fine though

no idea if that is BCM63168 is more sensible to long line from Exchange, or am I using the wrong firmware (8C0)?

cheers guys.

So I have finally managed to get some more time to test this.  I have tried the 7C firmware without much luck so went for the recently released 11b2 firmware.

After 3 days of uptime the xdsl stats are as below.  The only setting I have changed is correcting the ADSL MTU size for BT to 1458 bytes.

The DNS hasn't failed neither has the line been dropping every 5 minutes so I'm reasonably pleased.

any comments on why the time frames don't seem to match would be appreciated btw.

Thanks

Mark
