BT Increases line rental saver
« on: May 17, 2015, 01:24:39 PM »

Quote
Customers of BT’s consumer services, particularly those who like to save money on their phone service by pre-paying for a year in advance, should note that the operators Line Rental Saver discount has gone up in price by +7.99% to reflect a policy of the service being 10% cheaper than the standard line rental charge of £16.99 per month.

Until recently customers who took Line Rental Saver paid £169.90 per year (equivalent of £14.16 a month), but BT quietly increased this “early payment discount” last week (9th May) to £183.48 per year (equivalent of £15.29 a month).

Mine's up for renewal mid Aug. Will have to put brain in gear, whether giving both tel and ADSL BB over to PN. I'm on BT Anytime package + caller ID.

They ain't really that much cheaper (line rental) my lrs will be up in December, and i won't be staying with BT for line rental that is a certainty, as i ain't going to pay their extortionate prices , they keep on increasing it  whilst the wholesale price is reducing , all because they insist on pushing their loss leading  sports channels, along with super cheap BB and Sainsbury's vouchers, and expect everyone to subsidise this

If anyone fancies taking a step into basically quite an unknown isp (although they are very well known for supplying energy)then have a look here.£12 a month line rental(monthly, not prepaid annually in advance) FREE ADSL broadband for 2 years or half price fibre for 2 years.

Ordered some weeks back (ADSL) and awaited.....

Then I had a letter from BT this morning (now I'm changing phone provider from them!) offering BB for free for 12 months + existing line rental but 18 month contract so £13 after 12 months. Plus HH5 delivery of £6.95

and there are plenty of cheaper alternatives for those who don't want the same provider for voice and bb,& or don't want a 12mth or longer min term contract , for a kick off basic line rental can be had for £6 per month no contract even FTTC bb on a 1mth min term, unlimited  for a little more than some of the big 6 isp's  standard prices So why tie yourself into a lengthy contract ?
