Resync last night now G.INP is enabled...
« on: March 03, 2015, 09:37:35 AM »

Hi,

As some of you are aware I've had an ongoing line fault for over 3 weeks due to water in a joint which halved my BB speed as a result, numerous BT engineers have been out checking the line inside and out and the line seems ok for now.

Level 2 BT rep called last night to ask if the line was still holding up and then passed me over to BB faults dept, i mentioned about the DLM seemed stuck and the BT engineers had also suggested this, he did some further testing and eventually said there was a BB fault somewhere and that he was escalating the fault to OR.

This morning I checked the stats and noticed I had a resync early this morning just after 5am and now G.INP is showing as enabled and now have a INPRein of 1.00 showing where it was a 0 before, some increase in DL/UL has also resulted but not back to normal speeds yet and wondered if this is an attempt to sort the problem out or is there still a DLM reset required and an OR eng visit to check the line as speeds are still low or will they recover with time now?

I've also noticed an .5/.8 increase in SNR late during the night at the same time every evening (REIN interference?), which returns back/lowers in the morning, what could be the cause?

I've posted the old stats (when the fault appeared) further down.

Thanks.

SNR increase (around 11pm - 9pm every evening)

If you are a Windows user & don't already use HG612 Modem Stats, would you fancy trying it in the name of research for a while & posting the Ongoing Stats log file for analysis/graphing etc?

If so, I'll provide the G.INP enabled logging/graphing programs for you to use.

No problem I can do that, i'm using win8.1.

Further to add my SNR has dropped further this afternoon... (OR are still working on my issue/fault-open and I should be contacted in the next 24hrs)

Still wondering what the daily evening rise in SNR is related to as its in the early hours of the morning?

That's great.

I'll send you a PM with some details etc.

That might simply be due to the early hours being a less 'noisy' period & thus the apparent increase in Signal to Noise Ratio.
It's probably the same signal strength, but less noise to actually bring the ratio down.

With G.INP enabled, it may be the case that it is more sensitive to 'noise' & thus lowering daytime the ratio, but actually dealing with it 'better' than non-G.INP enabled connections.

Hopefully, with a few days worth of Ongoing stats graphs to gloat over, all will be revealed.

Thanks for the info, appreciated!

I've Pm'd you twice but it looks like the system isn't sending them out (sent items - empty  :hmm: ), I've emailed you now.

Hmm,

The email I sent was bounced back:-

A message that you sent to the following recipient could not be delivered due to a permanent error. ** The remote server xx.xxx.xxx.xx responded with: ** xxxxxx@gmail.com xxx:x.x.x message content and attachment content guidelines. g6si3407412wjn.160 - gsmtp This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server xxxxxxxxx.

Any ideas on how I can email the programs to you?
I had already renamed their extensions from *.exe to *.exp & zipped them into a single *.zip file to hopefully avoid that.
The zipped file size was only 584 KB.

If not, I'll attach them one-by-one in this thread if necessary.

Am I right in saying that even with connections heavily INP'd, when G.INP is enabled in their area/cabinet then they just get put on G.INP anyway? I noticed in Feb his old stats showed INP 5, so I assume when G.INP capability was available then the connection was shifted onto G.INP anyway.
