Home Hub 5 Type B
« on: March 01, 2015, 09:37:04 AM »

From searching the forum I gather that this router has a Broadcom chip set - but which one, the 6368 or the 63168?
Also is there anyway of getting error stats from this router, as I can only find software for the Type A version?
Unfortunately My Billion 8800NL went crazy with errors last night, and my modem was resynced this morning to an interleaved connection, so I am giving the HH5 a go.

The HomeHub 5A contains a Lantiq VRX268 chipset (Same as the ECI modem) and manufactured by Sagemcom.
The HomeHub 5B contains a Broadcom BCM63268 chipset and is manufactured by Arcadyan.

Stats are very limited for both, and I believe RouterStatsHub only works with the 5A.

Is the 63268 newer than the 63168, the Broadcom site makes no mention of this chipset? According to this there is no difference in the chipsets:

I'm just testing out the HH5A as a router at the moment thanks to pooclah and Web site access seems very snappy compared to HH3A, which is no suprise as the HH5 CPU should be handling the in's and out's of a router much faster than the third generation  :)
