I'm aware that mention of Linux vulnerabilities invariably stirs up something of a hornets' nest in resistance, sometimes making me wish I'd kept quiet.
But I'm the mischievous sort, so here's one of many reports of a new (old) one in glibc that's been causing actual grief for a good friend of mine in the industry today.
