HG612 Telnet
« on: December 10, 2014, 02:52:39 PM »

Having tried all the firmware I can find for the HG612 I still cannot get a good reliable telnet (and that's maybe why DSLstats will not work ).

Do not forget my HG612 is a 2B  so I do not know if that makes a difference ?.

Software version   V100R001C01B028SP10

Using LAN 2

$ telnet 192.168.1.1
Trying 192.168.1.1...
Connected to 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1).
Escape character is '^]'.

Some times I can telnet in but it does not understand the commands I put in or even sh !.

Other times it take the modem up to 20 seconds to answer.

Do we have any of the people who worked on the UN-locking on our forum ?.

Have you changed the password via the web interface?

Does the standard password work, just for telnet?

Update.
I had to take the HG612 out of service and put my speedtouch back to get the internet.  :'(

While it's not in use I have connected it up to a test computer and I can Telnet into it and DSLstats works   :o
I have not done anything more to the modem, next week I will try putting it back in service again without changing any settings to see what happens.

DSLstats started reporting log in errors !.

The BT agent is not enabled and it's details for Vlans have been removed.

I'm very puzzled by what is going on as anyone got in ideas what I can try next.

As 'Boost' said :-
http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=14762.msg276520#msg276520
"I wonder if the HG612 is literally spazzing out with all those FECs? You might be able to run 'top' from the CLI as soon as you synch and possibly view the util/load?"

I not sure what going on after 30 minutes the modem telnet locks up (BT Agent) is not enabled ! also I do not have a lot of FEC's to day !.

I telnet-ed in to the modem and used  'top'

Re-booted-modem

interesting, really heavy userspace cpu usage. Can you sort by cpu %? Also btagent might not be enabled but its running in your first dump.
