Googles official line;
This is old data collected by phishing etc and that our systems have not been compromised. The leak is a file which contains information on English-, Russian-, and Spanish-speaking users of Google services, such as Gmail and Google Plus.

Remember the longer a password is in use the greater the potential for malicious compromise. Change it regularly (or at least once a year) and don't use the same credentials for all websites you register with.
These days you have to assume that at least one of your passwords is sitting around in a hacker database.
