I'm guessing the overheads would be way too high for the cabinet type to be checked on each upload, but couldn't you do it when you see the modem has resynced? Or perhaps once a day/week?

Originally it was checked on every resync but for various reasons the result was often wrong and the entry had to corrected, sometimes more than once. So that was abandoned about 18 months ago. AFAICR the current change is the only actual one since then so setting up repeatedly checking it again seems a total waste of the limited spare time I currently have. It's easier and likely more accurate to just ask when necessary.

Thanks. I did PM him but probably hasn't spotted it yet. A user can get at the phrase by either consulting their original Registration email (which I assume people keep) or by Resetting their password.

I had an upload fail message received at 01:22 this morning but no upload OK message although it seems that I have been uploading since then OK. Was there are issue with the server after midnight?

Um. Seems the resume mails failed for everyone last night. And while looking at it (but not doing anything) the server promptly crashed.

So MDWS is down at the moment and may take up to 30 mins to get back online as the database has crashed and will need recovering.... It was overdue for a total restart so see what happens  :fingers:

Tony thanks for the update. Strange issue was that as far as I can tell my system did not have any issues last night after midnight, no obvious problems with DSLStats and no error messages from it either saying it cold not report.

MDWS was back up again at around 09:38.

There are though some 70+ users who have not automatically resumed uploading. If enabled you should receive warnings, they are certainly being sent out.

Edit 10:02
Server now frozen will have to restart and investigate but have to go out to appointment soon...

Yes it is OK now. However I cannot account for why it stopped uploading as DSLStats did not raise any alerts and I can see all the stats in DSLStats for the time frame that data was missing. I wold have expected an alert from DSLStats providing that it only flags a good upload after acknowledgement from the server,

You're right, Stuart. DSLstats doesn't report a failure to upload, because at present the command which performs the upload doesn't return when it fails, so the program hangs. It's my fault, and I'm working on it.

Thanks Eric, that means either the server was in trouble or there was a network issue which stopped the upload.
