Spark Core, looks interesting
« on: July 21, 2014, 07:09:48 AM »

Morning kitizen's

Came across a WiFi development kit called Spark Core, approx cost £28. Intro video here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxda0hXtJz8.

Spark Core WiFi Development Board with Chip Antenna
Spark Core is a tiny Wi-Fi development board that makes it easy to create internet connected hardware. The Core is all you need to get started; power it over USB and in minutes you will be controlling LEDs, switches and motors and collecting data from sensors over the internet. There is no need to plug the core into your computer; you can write code in the web IDE tool and upload it wirelessly to the Core. The core uses the same programming language as the Arduino platform allowing you to create existing Arduino projects using the Spark Core.
ARM 32-bit Cortex M3 CPU
72Mhz operating frequency
128kb of Flash memory
20kb of SRAM
12-bit ADC
USB 2.0 interface
USART, SPI and I2C interfaces
JTAG Debug mode
IEEE 802.11 b/g compliant
18x I/O Pins
Spark Core, Mini breadboard, Micro USB cable
Embedded Design & Development
Hobby & Hardware Hacking

Looks interesting, could prove very useful with the home automation project. Just need to find a roundtoit and I'm sorted :)

72MHz operating frequency ? Is the thing legal, or is that why it's called "spark" - banned since 1928 ? !!

LOL,

This thing is 802.11 B G compatible. The 72Mhz is the speed of the CPU  ;)
