TG582n and Dslstats5
« on: July 18, 2014, 08:56:06 AM »

I have found that occasionally after off/on resetting the router, one single tone may show a spike of bits/tone of 30 or 40  (which needs an enormous S/N and is (I assume) is outside the ADSL specification range.)

Restarting  Dslstats doesn't  clear  it and I didn't want to restart the router again so soon.  The problem sorts itself out in time.

It's certainly a false figure - each tone can carry up to 15 bits. You can see the raw data from the modem under Telnet Data -- > Bitloading, and this will presumably show the wrong data on the relevant tone. I don't think DSLstats could be responsible for this, but I'm prepared to be shown otherwise.

Thanks for the pointer.

It seemed  to me very unlikely that a fault which happens once in a blue moon can occur twice in as many minutes each time Dslstats is re-loaded.   As the saying is " (same) garbage in (same) garbage out.

As it or something like it might happen to other people, it seems a good idea to air it.
