Items Not In My Grotto!

Whilst looking out for extra equipment for Walter's wheelbarrow I came across two ex-Beattie testers . . . a Tester 230A and a Tester 417B. (Images attached, below.)

I wonder if anyone has memories of using such equipment that they would be willing to share?

 :hmm:  Pass on the first one.

The second one looks vaguely familiar, but I don't recall using one. Obviously not for POTS circuits as it includes a 10kHz test tone.
