What was the problem earlier with the forum.It just said database error...see screen grab below.

Not sure yet.   Been working on it since 3pm and attempting to restore the database.
Its not a problem on my server and the load is fine.  The rest of the site was still working ok..  just not communicating with the SMF database.

The main SMF site is down atm too.

I did look in on the Facebook page earlier but obviously before you posted an update.As you say all the other parts of the site are fine.

Thank you.   After looking through numerous logs, I can confirm that this would indeed appear to have been the root cause of the problem.  The table became corrupt and SMF wouldnt 'talk' with the database and causing processes to lock.  Hence why a database repair alone wouldnt work.   Should all be sorted now.

Thank you those who took the time to contact to advise me there was a problem.
